3BVZK2HXZ8FN Brooklyn Restaurant: Downtown Atlantic

I first discovered the Downtown Atlantic a couple years ago when my ever thoughtful mother in law sent me their cupcakes for my birthday, and the entire office descended on them in a tidal wave of “ohhhhh!!!”. Cupcake hardly does them justice. In a time when not every bakery were making “mini-cakes” they were making them an art form. When my husband and I got married, the one thing I thought of most (besides my husband) were those cupcakes. And frankly, the most memorable part of my wedding for many guests were those cupcakes. To this day I still get asked where I got them. They achieved the rare equilibrium of moisture and  texture, without being too sweet, doughy or “airy”.

As for the rest of the food we ate, it was pretty good. Though nothing will haunt you quite like their delectable dessert. Located near the corner of  Atlantic Avenue and Bond Street it’s a great local eatery for Flatbush Riviera denizens.
