After our sojourn at be@schermerhorn we decided to try out some restaurants in the area and happened upon Bedouin Tent. A brisk 10 minute walk from Toren. It’s colorfully decorated with a deceptively fast-foodish front. I figured it was like manmoun’s falafel or Heights Falafel both purveyors of deliciously fresh home made falafels with little more than 3 tables to their name. Bedouin was not like that, in this place you can actually SIT with your $4 home made falafel, and even more spectacular, waiter service. My “where will we sit query”, earned me a smile and a gesture towards the back. And boy does it have a back. There’s not only a back room decorated with charmingly dusty persian-ish rugs, there’s also outdoor seating complete with an elfin waterfall.
Josh ordered the house special falafel, and I ordered the Marguez sandwich. Both were fresh and just about melted in my mouth. The lamb was cooked with just the right amount of zest. Our wait was a little long, they seem to only have one waiter. But at $6 or less per sandwich how could you possibly complain? We both left with a brimming stomach and smile.

We went there again the following week after visiting the Brooklyn Flea — this time the service was even worse. Our waiting full on disappeared and we couldn’t get our check for over 20 mins. During that time, a mouse was spotted in the back garden. Now, OK it is the back garden and not the kitchen, mice are everywhere in NYC — but ewwww!
